紅葉の雲仙の秋。朝の最低気温が8℃になると紅葉が始まると言われ、雲仙では10月下旬から11月上旬が紅葉の見頃です。
赤や黄色に染まる代表的な樹木は、主にコハウイチワカエデ、コミネカエデ、ウリハダカエデ、イタヤカエデ、イロハモミジなどのカエデです。山肌を美しく彩る緑。
普賢岳周辺の紅葉は、1928年に国の天然記念物に指定されました。紅葉する樹木は約80種、草本植物は約40種。仁田峠から妙見山へのロープウェイ（約３分）からの眺めは絶景です。

その後、徐々に標高の低い場所に紅葉が進み、11月上旬から中旬にかけて、温泉街や旧八万地獄、白雲池周辺で紅葉を楽しむことができます。

Autumn in Unzen with its vibrant foliage. It is said that the autumn colors begin when the morning minimum temperature drops to 8°C, and in Unzen, the peak of autumn foliage is typically from late October to early November.
Representative trees that turn red or yellow include mainly Japanese maples such as Koha Uichiwakaede, Komine Kaede, Urihada Kaede, Itaya Kaede, and Irohamomiji. The mountainside is beautifully adorned with shades of green.
The autumn foliage around Mt. Fugen was designated as a national natural monument in 1928. There are approximately 80 species of trees that change color, and about 40 species of herbaceous plants. The view from the ropeway from Nita Pass to Myokendake (about 3 minutes) is breathtaking. Subsequently, the foliage gradually descends to lower elevations, and from early to mid-November, you can enjoy the autumn colors in places like the hot spring town, the former Yawaragi Hell, and the area around Shirakumo Ike (White Cloud Pond).
