温泉街から千々石方面への県道128号へ進むと「オシドリの池」（貯水ダム）がある。その周回歩道の途中に、磨崖仏大黒天がある。大黒天は、密教の伝来とともに日本に伝わり、大国主命と神仏習合してできた神で七福神の一柱としても知られている。最澄が比叡山延暦寺の台所の守護神として祀ったのが始まりと云われている。
巨岩のさけめの奥に大黒天が彫り込んである。俵に乗って、右手に小づちを持った像は高さ2.5m、その上には、見上げるほどの巨石が積み重なっている。商売の神様として信仰も厚く、その巨岩は迫力があり、参拝者も多い。

☆ 追記・・大黒天記事　巨岩に彫った大黒天（昭和40年6月9日：西日本新聞）
　建設中の雲仙別所ダム北東の通称大黒山から、巨岩に彫り込まれた大きな大黒天の像がこのほど見つかり,湯の町雲仙の話題になっている。別所ダムの中央を東西に通じている水没予定の道路を抜けて大黒山の深い森林を二百メートル程進むと、目いっぱいに広がる巨岩に知突き当たる。
　左右から迫る巨岩の裂け目の奥に問題の大黒山が彫り込んである。俵に乗って、右手に打ち出の小づちを持った像は高さ約2.５ｍ。その上には見上げるほどの巨岩が積み重なっている。
　雲仙大乗院満明寺の遺跡を調べるために訪れた京都仏教大斉藤彦松教授が「大黒山に隠れた大黒像がある」と地元の人から聞いて、県公園事務所の職員といっしょに調査した。その結果、手法・風化の度合いから三・四百年前に彫られたものらしく、大きさでは他に例がないということがわかった。また、五穀豊作・商売繁盛を祈る隠れた信者がある事もわかった。雲仙観光協会では近く斉藤教授に鑑定証を書いてもらって文化財保護委員会に指定の申請をする考えだ。
注；これ以前から地元の方は、大黒天の存在は知っていたという事です。
英語バージョン
「Daikokuten-magaibutu(carved buddha)」
When proceeding from the hot spring town towards the Chigiwa area on Prefectural Route 128, you will come across "Oshidori Pond" (a reservoir dam). Along the circular walking path around the pond, there is a cliff-carved Buddha known as Daikokuten. Daikokuten, a deity derived from Esoteric Buddhism, was introduced to Japan and became a syncretic figure combining the Shinto deity Ōkuninushi and Buddhist elements. He is also known as one of the Seven Lucky Gods. It is said that the origin of his enshrinement dates back to Saichō (also known as Dengyō Daishi), who revered Daikokuten as the guardian deity of the kitchen at Enryaku-ji Temple on Mount Hiei. The figure of Daikokuten is carved deep within a massive rock crevice. The statue, depicted riding on a bale of rice with a small hammer in his right hand, stands at a height of 2.5 meters. On top of the statue, there are stacked enormous rocks that one must look up to see. Daikokuten is highly revered as a deity of commerce, and the imposing presence of the colossal rock attracts many visitors.
