Nanoka-mawari-ishi(7days round rock)
Hidden along the riverbank in the mountain forest on the right-hand side, about 30 meters from the entrance of Shirakumo Pond, there is a colossal stone called the "Nanokka Mawari no Ishi" (Stone of Seven Days' Circumambulation). The sacred mountain of Unzensan was a place of worship where women were prohibited from entering. Even if they were a mother and child, the rules were strict. One day, a mother, driven by her strong desire to see her child entrusted to the monastery, broke the prohibition and came to this rock to rest with her infant. However, suddenly, the child disappeared. The mother, in a state of madness, searched around this stone for seven days and nights, but eventually, she succumbed to exhaustion. This is the sad tale that has been passed down.
