Daishizan Seidaiji Temple is a temple whose principal image is the Echizen Daibutsu, which is representative of the Hokuriku region.

It was built in 1987 by Kiyoshi Tada, a local businessman. Initially, it was not a religious corporation in order to pay property tax to the local area, but it was certified as a religious corporation in 2002.

The Echizen Daibutsu, which is also the principal object of worship, is said to have been modeled after the "Longmen Hosenji Seated Statue" in Henan Province, China, and is a huge Buddha statue with a sitting height of 17 meters.

It is 2 meters larger than the Great Buddha of Nara, and is also known as the "Great Buddha of Success" as the largest Buddha in Japan.

The five-storied pagoda on the temple grounds is also 75 meters high, making it the largest reinforced concrete five-storied pagoda in Japan. Together with the Great Buddha Hall, it is the symbol of this temple.
