Yunoyama Onsen is well-known as the back room of Kansai.

The hot spring village has a long history, having been discovered in 718 during the Nara period. Originally, it was known as "Shikanoyu" because wild deer healed wounds. Since that time, it has been crowded with many hot spring guests as an inner parlor of the Chukyo and Kansai regions.

The Yunoyama area is designated as Suzuka Quasi-National Park, and is popular not only as a hot spring but also as a leisure spot surrounded by seasonal nature.

There are many young people who enjoy climbing Mt. Gozaisho and enjoying mountain sports, and Yunoyama Onsen is a perfect hot spring spot for such people to heal their fatigue.

Because it is easily accessible from the Kansai region, such as Osaka and Kyoto, many tourists visit on weekends to enjoy a day trip to the hot springs.

The hot springs are alkaline radium springs, and are said to be effective for gout, arteriosclerosis, neuralgia, and sensitivity to cold.
