The Former Tokushima Castle Omote Goten Garden, also known as the Senshukaku Garden, is a representative Japanese garden in Tokushima Prefecture.
Early Edo period. It began as a garden for the feudal lord's living room and Omoteshoin garden by Soko Ueda, who was also a samurai and tea master.
It consists of two gardens: the ``Shoin Garden,'' a dry landscape garden that you can enjoy and enjoy, and the ``Living Garden,'' which is a stroll-style garden with a pond.
It was designated as a national scenic spot in 1942, as it is a rare garden where two gardens that preserve the Momoyama-style garden can be seen at the same time.
Inside the park, blue stones, which are a specialty of Awa, are boldly used, and there is a blue stone bridge over 10 meters long in the Karesansui garden. There is also a legend that this bridge was stepped on by Yoshishige Hachisuka, the first lord of the Tokushima domain.
