Katae Observatory is known as one of the best night view spots in Fukuoka City. It is a popular spot that is visited by many people throughout the day, as it is easily accessible just 15 minutes by car from the downtown area.

The city lights that shine in white, gold, and orange are extremely beautiful, and you can enjoy a fantastic atmosphere. To the east of the observatory, you can also see a neon sign for Fukuoka Airport, the gateway to the sky, giving you a unique view of Fukuoka, which is close to the airport.

These beautiful sights are not only visible at night. From Katae Observation Deck, located halfway up Mt. Aburayan at an altitude of 597m, on days when the air is clear, you can sometimes see as far as Uminonakamichi, beyond Hakata Bay.
